Of the Gridball teams.

Did you know that the first Gridball season (1990) had 8 teams fighting in 8 games, one team against another. The teams (as they were at that time) are below, with the first team listed being the first team formed.

1. Sacramento Mountaineers

2. Boise Whiteouts (changed their name to the St. Paul Touchdowns)

3. Augusta Snails (changed their name to the Snakes)

4. Hartford Lions

5. Honolulu Pirates (changed their name to the Surfers)

6. Phoenix Greens (changed their name to the Explorers)

7. Springfield Wolves

8. Montgomery Coyotes

2 years later, these teams joined:

9. Little Rock Robbers

10. Nome Reindeer (moved to Juneau)

11. Des Monies Royals

12. New Mexico Fighters (liquidated)

7 years later, (1999), the fighters were liquidated and the Tallahassee Leopards were formed out of their ashes. The teams slowly evolved into their current forms, teams won the Gridball Championship, (later renamed the Gridbowl), and legacies were made.
