The perfect team... so how did they lose?
Jcjr. , Cohen Harper, Justin Greed, Isaac Shrink, Jacob Willams, and D. J. Lee. This is a team that has serious talent. Their offense alone is enough to beat down most teams, raking up tons of points while whittling down QBs and WRs from the inside out. But, wait a minute. This team lost the Gridbowl I game, didn't it? How? Who could of stood up to this team? Williams Cupp, that's who. The rivalry between Jerry Cook Jr. and Cupp continues on the biggest screen yet. The Royals vs. the Lions, fighting for the Gridbowl I trophy. But, who are we looking at, here? Here's a list of the top playmakers of the big game.
Lions
1. Cohen Harper
2. Justin Greed
3. Jerry Cook Jr.
4. Jacob Willams
Royals
1. Williams Cupp
2. Joe Cubert
3. Sims Granite
4. Caleb Fort
One thing to notice is that the Royals lineup stayed the same through 2020, but retirement has hit the two best players on the lions in 2019. This may have accounted for the fall of the Lions from an amazing team to a meager one. But at the time of Gridbowl I, they were a team to be feared of. So, how did the Royals beat them? They have a dangerous weapon on their team. Cupp and Jcjr. have been battling it out for decades, but it all started in 2002 when Williams was out with an elbow injury. Jerry stood in for him, becoming one of the fastest rising players in the league. But, it all ended when he was benched in 2005 by the coach in favor of Cupp. He boiled on the second string for 2 years before he was traded to the lions, where he carried the team to its near Gridbowl victory. Good story, right? Anyway, now we're up to date. In the big game, here are the 2 QB's alternate stats:
Jerry Cook Jr. : 31 yards passing, 6 yards scrambling, one passing TD- INT count- 2
Williams Cupp: 72 yards passing, 28 yards scrambling, one passing TD- INT count- 3
Jerry only beats out Cupp in interception count, with only 2 picks. But in most other aspects, Williams destroyed Jcjr. Then, Cook got angry, made some more mistakes, and got even angrier. This kept on spiraling downward, until Jerry was so angry and psyched out that he was playing terribly, and so the Royals won, even with Greed and Harper playing against them. So the Lions lost, the Royals won, and Jcjr. came away scarred for the seasons to come.
